Sharing artworks with viewing rooms
Create password-protected viewing rooms to present specific works to collectors, galleries, or curators in a focused, distraction-free environment.
What is a viewing room?
A viewing room is a private, focused page you share with a specific person to show them selected artworks. Unlike your public portfolio, a viewing room shows only the pieces you choose, in the order you set, with no navigation to the rest of your site. It is designed for presenting work to a gallery, a collector who asked to see your available pieces, or a curator considering your work for an exhibition.
Creating a viewing room
Go to Viewing Rooms in the admin sidebar and click New viewing room. Give the room a name (only you see this; it is for your reference), then add artworks by clicking Add artworks and selecting the pieces you want to include.
Setting a password
Viewing rooms are password-protected by default. The password is generated automatically, but you can change it to something easier to remember and share. The recipient enters the password on the viewing room landing page before they can see the artworks.
Sharing the link
After saving, copy the share link from the viewing room detail page. Send it to the recipient along with the password. They do not need an account to view the room.
Reordering artworks
Drag and drop the artworks in the viewing room editor to control the order they appear. Think about the flow: which piece should the viewer see first? Which is the strongest closer?
Tracking views
The viewing room detail page shows the number of times the room has been accessed and the last access time. This gives you a sense of whether the recipient has actually opened the link.
Closing a viewing room
When you are done sharing, click Deactivate to disable the link. The room stays in your admin for reference but the share URL will return a "not found" page. You can reactivate it later if needed.
Using viewing rooms for gallery submissions
Viewing rooms are well-suited for gallery submissions that ask for a digital portfolio review. Create a room with your strongest 10 to 15 pieces, set a professional password, and include the link in your submission email. The gallery sees exactly what you want them to see, with no distractions.
