Add Your First Artwork

Adding your first artwork to Fine Art Form takes less than two minutes. Here's how.

Step 1: Log in to your dashboard

After signing up, you'll land on your Fine Art Form dashboard. This is your home base — it shows your artwork count, recent activity, and quick actions.

Quick Tip: Can't see your dashboard? Make sure you've confirmed your email address. Check your inbox (and spam folder) for a message from Fine Art Form.

Step 2: Click "Add Artwork"

From your dashboard, click the Add Artwork button. You'll see a clean upload screen — no complicated forms yet, just the essentials.

Step 3: Upload your image

Drag and drop your artwork image directly onto the upload area, or click to browse your files.

Supported formats: JPG, PNG, TIFF, WebP Recommended size: At least 1200px on the longest side for best results

Your image will upload instantly. Fine Art Form stores originals at full quality.

Step 4: Fill in the basics

Once your image is uploaded, you'll see a short form with four fields:

  • Title — What's this piece called? (Required)
  • Year — When did you make it?
  • Medium — Oil on canvas, watercolor, digital, etc.
  • Status — Available, Sold, or Not for Sale

That's it. You don't need dimensions, provenance, or edition details right now — you can add those later from the artwork's detail page.

Step 5: Save your artwork

Click Save Artwork. Your piece is now in your portfolio.

You'll be taken to the artwork detail page, where you can add pricing, additional images, a description, and more.

What's next?

Now that your first artwork is in, here's what most artists do next:

  • Add more artworks — Build out your inventory. The more complete your portfolio, the better it looks to collectors.
  • Set up your portfolio site — Your public-facing gallery. Share it with the world.
  • Try Smart Descriptions — Fine Art Form can write a rich, professional description of your artwork for you. Available on Pro and Premium plans.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add multiple images for one artwork? Yes. After saving your artwork, open the detail page and use the Images tab to add detail shots, process photos, or installation views.

What if I make a mistake? Everything is editable. Click any artwork from your dashboard to open it and make changes.

Is there a limit to how many artworks I can add? Free plan: up to 25 artworks. Pro plan: up to 500. Premium plan: unlimited. Compare plans →

My image isn't uploading. What do I do? Check that your file is under 50MB and in a supported format (JPG, PNG, TIFF, or WebP). If you're still having trouble, contact support →.
