Setting Up Your Portfolio Site
4 min read

Your Fine Art Form portfolio site is a live, public-facing gallery — a professional home for your work that you can share with collectors, galleries, and anyone else who wants to see what you make. Here's how to get it looking great.
Step 1: Go to your Portfolio Site settings
From your dashboard, click Portfolio Site in the left navigation. You'll land on your site's settings page.
Step 2: Set up your artist profile
Your profile is the heart of your portfolio site. It tells collectors who you are.
Click the Profile tab and fill in the following:
- Artist Name — How your name will appear publicly (your full name, studio name, or alias)
- Bio — A short statement about your work, practice, and background. Up to 500 words. Don't overthink it — two or three sentences is a great start.
- Profile Photo — A headshot or studio photo. Square images work best. (JPG or PNG, recommended 400×400px or larger)
- Location — City and country, or as specific as you'd like
- Website — A link to your personal site, Instagram, or anywhere else you want to send visitors
Click Save Profile when you're done.
Quick Tip: You can always update your bio later. Artists who add a photo and bio get significantly more engagement than those who don't — it only takes a few minutes.
Step 3: Your portfolio layout
Fine Art Form uses a clean, minimal grid layout — your artworks take center stage with plenty of whitespace and no visual clutter. It's designed to look great across all devices and for all styles of work.
Additional themes and layout options are on the roadmap and coming in a future update.
Step 4: Preview and share your site
Click Preview Site to see exactly what visitors will see. Open it in a new tab to explore it fully.
Your portfolio is live at:
artsketch.io/artist/your-username
You can find your direct URL on the Sharing tab. Copy it and:
- Add it to your email signature
- Put it in your Instagram bio
- Include it on a business card or artist statement
- Share it directly with a gallery or collector
On Pro or Premium plan? You can connect a custom domain (like yourstudioname.com) from the Sharing tab. See How to Set Up a Custom Domain → for step-by-step instructions.
Step 5: Make sure your artworks are visible
Your portfolio site shows every artwork marked as Available or Sold — artworks marked Not for Sale and drafts are hidden from public view.
To check which artworks appear on your site:
- Go to Artworks in your dashboard
- Look at the Status column for each piece
- Click any artwork to edit its status if needed
Artworks display in reverse chronological order by default (newest first). You can reorder them from the Artworks page by dragging and dropping.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my portfolio site live immediately?
Yes. As soon as you save your profile and publish your artworks, your site is live at artsketch.io/artist/your-username. No waiting for approval.
Can I hide my portfolio site while I'm getting set up? Yes. From the Sharing tab, toggle Site Visibility to Private. Only you will be able to see it while logged in. Toggle it back to Public when you're ready.
Can I have more than one portfolio site? Premium plan users can create multiple sites for different collections or bodies of work. Free and Pro plans include one site.
How do I update my username? Go to Account Settings → Profile. Note: changing your username also changes your portfolio URL, so any links you've shared will need to be updated.
Will my site show prices? Prices are shown for artworks marked Available. Price is hidden automatically for artworks marked Sold or Not for Sale. You control this artwork by artwork.
Can collectors contact me through my site? Yes. Your portfolio site includes a Contact button that sends messages directly to your Fine Art Form inbox. You can enable or disable it from the Sharing tab.
